GEAR UP is a federally funded program that works in partnership with Chicago Public Schools to prepare Chicago students for success in postsecondary education. GEAR UP is dedicated to making college real for students

GEAR UP Postsecondary Support

CCAS staff support GEAR UP students through high school and into their first year of college. Mentors work with students the summer after senior year to make sure all steps to enrollment are completed. Once in college, GEAR UP continues support, particularly in City Colleges of Chicago, which have GEAR UP Resource Rooms to provide guidance and tutoring to successfully complete freshman year and prepare for program completion or transfer to a four-year institution.
