About the CyberGirl CyberWorld Program:

The CyberGirl CyberWorld program at NEIU will provide an immersive experience into the career of cybersecurity utilizing the GenCyber concepts. This all-girls camp is intended for 9-12 grade young women from across the Berwyn, Cicero and Chicago land area. The goals of the program are to increase interest in cybersecurity careers,  increase diversity in the cybersecurity workforce of the nation, help all students understand correct and safe on-line behavior, and create a sustainable network of cyber professionals to continuously motivate students in upcoming camps.

During this 10-day virtual camp, participants will be introduced

to rigorous project-based cyber curriculum design by the NEIU Department of Computer Science faculty. Participants will also network with industry professionals working in cybersecurity, while creating a community of empowerment and growth mindset with peers in the camp.

It’s imperative that we provide equity and access to young girls

in the cybersecurity sector where so many women are underrepresented today. This highly competitive camp will be committed to that mission as our nation calls for more cyber security experts.

To ensure a level playing field, GenCyber camps are open to

all student and teacher participants at no cost. Funding for the CyberGirl CyberWorld is provided jointly by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation.
